When held at the NSW Gulpa creek site, Confest is spread over a zillion acres of Oz bush choc full of eucalyptus trees and is bordered by a lovely creek.

The setting is stunning often it is more phun just to get lost in nature than to attend the day's workshops!
There is fun in all directions! Confest participants are encouraged to create their own villages.

There's no boring place here! As ever, the Destination is the Journey itself. ^_^

Confest Summer 2003

ByCreek
Creeks, Trees and no fences!
After shedding vehicles, trolleys, lifestyles (and possibly underwear) at the 'uge carpark, confestees at Gulpa creek have the choice of camping with their cars (Gypsy camping bit) or without them on a creek peninsula with a lovely beach (Carefree camping bit.)

living in a forest teeming with hippies -many of whom are clothed- allows ya to make friends with people as you stumble through their homes- a luxury not afforded in cities of fences and concrete. and clothes :)

It's easier to lose one's sense of hurry when there is so much natural beauty to soak in. Particularly with overstressed or terminally busy people, the experiencing Confest is a great way to slow life down to a relaxed pace. It is in this serenity surrounded by beauty that is it is easier to be 'in the moment'; just to not worry about yesterday or tomorrow - simply experiencing the glorious moment. :)

Dream_Catcher
'That' Dreamcatcher..
In the heat of the 2002 Summertime confest, Along the main pathway leading through the Carefree peninsula, there was a uber sized dreamcatcher that gradually blossomed with trinkets, poems and photos that passerbys attached to it. Later, it grew so large that the weight of the gifts lowered it so that ground and dreamcather were united!

Confestian Climate
Life in a hippy festival exposes one to many risks. risks such as fun, friendship and near-life experiences. And weather.
living in the open (physically, not just spiritually :) ) makes weather as important as pants that have no holes.

Confest is almost always blessed with excellent weather. The Gulpa creek site seldom sees anything but warm, sunny, with cloudlessly blue skies! However, in the dizzyingly hot Summer Confest of 2002, we witnessed a surprise biblical downpour from the heavens just on New years eve, with the bucketing relenting as dramaticaly as it had began later in the day!

Confest Easter 2002

Castles, Mazes and Mudbaths
In the lazy April heat of this festival, someone erected a neat little castle in the middle of the carefree peninsula. Just the size to trap a horde of midgets, the castle was also a great navigational ..erm..box.

The fairy maze is a regular confest treat and is constructed by the pixie dude himself, Loki. Many were the foolhardy hippies who thought they could overcome their own ability to get lost easily!

Several nice English backpackers we befriended at a Psytrance party (Ganesha) and persuaded to come to Confest decided to partake of the mudbathing in the mud pool near the carefree peninsula beach. Mud is good!
